Lies & Illusions

Christian Slater stars as the comical protagonist, a weakling self-help author. Wes Wilson (Slater) wrote a best-selling book about finding love and he thinks that this has worked for him. He is engaged to Samantha (Sarah Ann Schultz) when they are suddenly attacked one night. This portion of the plot seems directly stolen from the far superior Tell No One. When Wes awakes he assumes that Samantha was killed. A year later he inherits her belongings as per her will. At this point he discovers that Samantha may be alive and that she was some sort of skilled thief or spy.
Wes has started dating a woman named Nicole (Christa Campbell) when Samantha returns, but the bigger problem is a criminal that is looking to collect on stolen diamonds. Cuba Gooding Jr. stars as the deadly criminal in yet another terrible straight-to-video disaster. The acting is all pretty bad, and even when Cuba Gooding Jr. is the best actor in the bunch, he makes the worst choices for projects.

I Hate Valentine's Day

After the mammoth success of MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING in 2002, Nia Vardalos and John Corbett reunite for this unromantic-sounding romantic comedy. As the owner of the Brooklyn florist Roses for Romance, Genevieve (Vardalos) should welcome the love-centric holiday. But heartache has kept her from serious relationships, and she has obeyed her romance rule: never go on more than five dates. New restaurateur Greg (Corbett) can’t follow any rules when it comes to dating--he doesn’t know how male-female relationships are supposed to work, so he stays unmarried. When the two pair up, they try to stick to Genevieve’s five-date mandate, but they didn’t count on love entering the equation. Writer-actress Vardalos makes her directorial debut with I HATE VALENTINE’S DAY, which also stars Stephen Guarino, Zoe Kazan, Judah Friedlander, Rachel Dratch, and Jay O. Sanders.

This is the only Amir Arison video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Stephen Guarino, Jason Mantzoukas.
